Feast of St. John of God

Luke 11:14-23

This day Jesus healed a mute by casting out a demon. When the man spoke, the crowd was amazed. But to say the crowd was amazed is not to say they believed. Some were merely entertained. “Every kingdom divided against itself becomes a desert. Even Satan will fall if his kingdom is divided against itself.” Evil always divides us against each other. Evil divides us even against our self. Do we really believe that our own character flaws can be transformed if we choose good over evil? Do we really believe that the evils of our society could be eliminated if enough good men and women set out to change things for the good?
