Tenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
Mark 3: 20-35
Jesus is pointing out to us today that we had better have our priorities in order. “Just because you are related to me through Baptism, don’t think it’s a shoo-in. You have to DO something – namely the Will of My Father and that will become clear in your life of prayer – by living this Gospel each day.” For Jesus nothing was allowed to come between him and the will of God. As it was with our Lord, so let it be for us. No earthly loyalty is deep and vast enough to claim our full devotion. We are mortal but also immortal. We belong to this world, yet we belong to God.
