USCSI REFLECTIONS

Twenty-Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time

Mark 9:38-43,45,47-48

“Would that all the people of the Lord were prophets. For whoever is not against us is for us.” How often do we unjustly question the motives of others? How often do we jump to conclusions about others who may be honestly seeking to do good but in a different way and with a different perspective from us? Even within the Church. There are people, not of our company this very day, who are feeding the hungry and housing the homeless, who are casting out demons of poverty or demons of hate and prejudice. It is time for us to act.
