Luke 4:16-30

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me.” The Spirit of the Lord is upon each one of us as well, sending us forth, by virtue of our baptisms to take on the work of being God’s prophet; bringing glad tidings to the poor in the generosity we extend to them and affirming their dignity as sons and daughters of God, proclaiming liberty to those captive to illness, poverty, and isolation and bringing the light of God’s grace to those lost and struggling.
