Luke 12:39-48

We are being reminded these days of the Lord’s second coming to us in death but also our awareness of his presence all around us each day. We are being reminded of the opportunities we miss each day to welcome him. He is constantly surprising us with his presence yet we still can be foolish enough not to recognize him as unprepared servants awaiting our master’s return. We are the servants to whom God has entrusted his “house” for the care of those who serve with us.  May we embrace Christ’s spirit of humility and gratitude in order to know the fulfillment of being the “faithful and prudent” servant of the Gospel.
