St. Andrew
Matthew 4:18-22
Today we celebrate the Feast of St. Andrew the Apostle. Andrew is a Greek name and it means manly and the apostle is said to be the son of John and the brother of Peter. With Peter as his brother it is no wonder that we hear very little about Andrew. From what we know from the gospel stories, Andrew is the first to be called by Jesus. From the beginning Andrew is introducing others to Jesus including his brother, Peter, a group of gentiles and also the boy with the fish and barley loaves. Do we find ourselves bringing others to Jesus?
