Luke 20:27-40

This gospel reading is for those challenging times of our lives. Jesus is calling us to remember that God’s care is not limited to this world, and that the successes and failures of this age are not definitive. Jesus always had a keen awareness of the presence of his Father.  He was the ever-present Father, friend, helper, and companion.  When we understand this, it is plain to see why Jesus believed in life after death.  It was not simply a logical conclusion that he had carefully thought out.  It was a natural outgrowth of what he believed about life
