Luke 19:1-10

We are shown the true character of Zacchaeus. Others hated him because he was a tax collector, but Jesus brought out the true character of the man. Zacchaeus was committed to two excellent virtues, honesty and generosity. He had not cheated anyone when he gathered the taxes and he was generous in giving to the needy. This is an example for all of us. How is our character? Are we generous with what we have? Are we honest in our dealings with others? We may fall short of the high standard that Zacchaeus sets, but we need to try and follow his example and his commitment to Christ.
