All Saints

Matthew 5:1-12

There are two ways to understand religion. One way is to study the belief system with its creeds and systematic theologies. But there is another way to understand religion by observing the lives of authentic people in a religious tradition. Indeed, we learn more about any person’s religion from what they do rather than what they say. On this feast of All Saints we honor women and men whose lives of holiness provide for us an example of what it truly means to be Christian. On this Solemnity of All Saints, we thank you, O God, for the saints who have been part of our lives and who have inspired us by their faithfulness and generosity of spirit.
