Feast of St. Bede the Venerable, St. Mary Magdalene de’Pazzi

Mark 10:1-12

Jesus came to raise the moral law to a higher level than ordinarily practiced. We see a perfect example of “fulfilling the law” in this lesson from Mark’s gospel. We want to water down the claims of the gospel to make it more attractive to be a Christian. We appeal to human weakness and divine forgiveness as grounds for excusing all kinds of behavior. What an incredible example we find in Jesus. You and I have the responsibility to embody this life of Jesus and encourage others to do the same. Let us pray for one another that we will hold on to our convictions and trust in God’s love and support.
