Saint Turibius of Mogrovejo
Luke 15:1-3, 11-32
In World War II, a soldier lay wounded on the battlefield. A chaplain came and knelt beside him. The boy looked up and recognized him as the Catholic priest. He said: “Padre, I do not belong to your church.” The chaplain replied: “That’s no problem son. You do belong to my God.” And that is the right thing for all of us to say about every person. Whatever the differences might be, we are still created by one God who loves us all. Yet some of us still choke on the idea of referring to some people as our sister or our brother.
