Matthew 5:20-26

Jesus tells his friends very straightforwardly that their holiness must be better than that of the Scribes and Pharisees. Jesus reminds us that the Father does not budget his rain and sunshine, he simply gives abundantly. Jesus did not weigh and estimate his energy in being with the hungry crowds in need of healing. The Father and Son give all to all. This is the holiness of Jesus to which we have been called. The holiness of Jesus is God’s holiness.
