Mark 11:11-26
Because the temple was so “unclean,” its court of the gentiles turned into anoriental bazaar, the temple could not be a “house of prayer for all people.” It had failed to be a “light to the gentiles.” (Doing business rather than honoring God.) But we must exercise the prayer and forgiveness taught in this text, lest we today become the new, prideful, failing “temple.” Are we equally barren of fruit, though outwardly we appear to be flourishing? God has replaced individuals and nations before — and religious institutions. “Let the one who thinks he stands take heed, lest he fall.”
