St. Thomas
John 20:24-29
St. Thomas is probably best remembered as “Doubting Thomas.” However, Thomas gets a bum rap if all we remember is his doubt. Thomas simply asks for what the other disciples had already received in the verses prior to today’s gospel. Thomas wants to see the living Lord. When he does, his faith is strengthened. There are days when we want to see the living Lord. And so Jesus Christ comes to us in Mass, holds out his hand and says, “This is my body for you,” so that we might believe and say with Thomas, “My Lord and my God.”
