St. Martha

John 11:19-27

Martha is an example of a woman whose love for God expressed itself in the service of love. She manifested her love for Jesus by providing him and his disciples a home whenever they were near Jerusalem. Jesus asks us again and again to express our love for him by service for others. Religion, in other words, that has only a head in the sky and no feet on the ground benefits no one.
