Matthew 9:32-38

“The harvest is abundant, but the laborers are few.” This reflective statement of Jesus still rings true up to this time. For years we associated this comment with the lack of vocations to consecrated life and priesthood. The Catechism Handbook states that the lay faithful comprises over 99.5% of the church. Based on the documents of Vatican II and the statement of Paul VI the statement in today’s gospel refers to all the faithful. The people who need to know Jesus fully well are very plentiful but those who are willing to share are very few. How are we sharing our faith with others?
