St. Matthew – 

One of the distinctive attributes of Jesus was his inclusiveness of everyone. Nowhere better seen than in those he called to follow him: tax collectors and sinners, fisherman and scholars, radicals and patriots. No other movement of his time, whether Jewish or Gentile, could be found with such a mix. In a world where social standing and class were everything, Jesus broke all the rules and welcomed all into the loving circle of the family of God. Today, we call this the church. May it truly be such!
