Evangelical Christians reduce the journey of faith to its beginning and its ending, to conversion and resurrection. But this is not what Jesus taught nor what God wants. Our journey through this world is a schoolroom for ‘soul-making.’ The twists and turns of the road teach us patience. The hurts and troubles of the journey teach us humility. The demands and difficulties of the path teach us generosity. How could we reach or enjoy the goal without the journey?
