St. Boniface – 

Paul, on his deathbed is giving Timothy an eternal perspective and helping him see what matters. Paul is reminding Timothy of Paul’s personal experience in the faith. He reminds him to follow him, as Paul follows Jesus Christ; he wants Timothy to emulate and share with others the gifts of faith, patience, love and endurance. We in turn pass on this legacy in our world today.
