Saint Peter Chrysologus – 

Doing the right thing because it is the right thing to do, must reflect Jesus’ teaching. We visit the sick in the hospital or nursing home because it is the right thing to do. We volunteer at the local soup kitchen because it is the way Jesus taught us to serve the poor. We donate to charities not just because we need a tax write-off but because we have an obligation to practice higher righteousness. This is how we make the Kingdom of God come alive.
