St. Thomas –
The Gospel of St. John shows Thomas moving from deep doubt to deeper faith. Thomas makes one of the strongest confessions of faith in all of the New Testament when he declares to Jesus, “My Lord and my God.” Thomas is a reminder that doubt, even the deepest doubt, is not the opposite of faith. Doubt is not a symptom of faith that is weak and dying. Doubt is a sign that faith is alive, longing for the good news of Jesus Christ to be a part of our life.
