Holy Innocents, pray for us – 

Herod destroys, Joseph protects, and the Magi adore. The families who experienced the slaying of the Holy Innocents probably never knew why this tragedy occurred. These are the forgotten victims of Christmas. The babies died because they had the misfortune of being born in the same place and at roughly the same time as the Savior. Even amid the joy of the Christmas event, there are those who suffered. With every Christmas we observe, remember that there are those who experience suffering amid the joy.
