Monday within the Octave of Easter –

The message of Easter is truly clear: we need to go back there. This is not to go back in time; it is not a kind of nostalgia. It is returning to our first love. Easter calls us beyond ourselves, our wants, our fears. Christ’s rising from the dead demands a change in attitude, in perspective, in the way we approach the complexities and demands of the world. The resurrection pulls us out of our own ‘tombs’ of indifference and cynicism, of self-centeredness.
