Saint Dominic
Matthew 15:21-28
It seems that the Canaanite woman is an obvious interruption in his plans. The disciples want to get rid of her. She is considered by the disciples as an outsider. In fact, in Matthew’s Gospel the only two outsiders mentioned are the Roman Centurion and the Canaanite woman. The ultimate message here for all of us is that God’s message is universal. It is not limited to racial or ethnic lines. Redemption is for all humanity. We must cut across the narrow lines of fear and prejudice with which we imprison ourselves.
