And Jesus said of the children that they were nearer to God than anyone else. The child’s simplicity is nearer to God than anything else. It is life’s tragedy that, as we grow older, we so often grow further from God and not nearer to him. It is the gifts of children that we need to rediscover – simplicity, a sense of dependency, humility, lightheartedness, inquisitiveness and any other virtue or trait that you can imagine in a child. Let’s set aside our sophistication and bow our heads to be touched by the hands of Jesus.
