John 20:19-31

How have we come to the faith we now have or maybe are still searching for? Is it a blind faith that has been handed down to us through our families – what I call second-hand faith? Or is it a faith that has come about through moments of anguish, through times of great doubt and honest questions? The incredible profession of faith made by Thomas was the result of honest doubt and lots of questions. Jesus does not reprimand Thomas for asking questions, he does not berate him for having doubts. He accepted and appreciated Thomas’ need to experience for himself what “resurrection of Jesus” was all about. And Jesus respects our honest doubts.
