John 8 :12-20

When Jesus made his claim to be the Light of the World the Scribes and the Pharisees reacted with hostility. That claim of Jesus sound to them like a claim – as indeed it was – to be the Messiah, and, even more, to do the work that only God could do. Jesus was so conscious of His own authority, of his own close relationship with God, that no other witness was necessary. How convinced am I as the “beloved” of God? Do I live as I believe that conviction?
