John 21:1-14
After the trauma of Jerusalem, the beauty of the Galilean hills and lakeshore must have calmed the souls of Peter and the other disciples. The work of lowering and hauling in the nets, the rocking of the boat, quieted their frantic minds. And in that ordinary place doing their ordinary work, Jesus came to them. At times we have the same kind of exasperation like that of the apostles. And we too need to go aside for a while to a deserted place, a place that brings us solace and peace and Jesus will meet us also.
