Feast of St. Stanislaus
John 3:16-21
What does salvation mean to you? I fear that for many people the word SALVATION applies primarily, if not exclusively, to what happens to us after we die. To say that Christ saves us means that we ultimately end up in heaven rather than hell. And with that kind of thinking we divorce the saving work of Jesus from this life and place it in the next. How do I get through today ‑ how can I experience being saved today? We need to be saved from the smallness of a self‑centered world. We need to be saved from the fear of an uncertain world. Paul says ‑ SALVATION IS YOURS ‑ not ‑ WILL BE YOURS. Salvation is not just a question of heaven or hell ‑ it’s a matter for here and now.
